- January 5: Tens of thousands of demonstrators "marched from Foley Square in Lower Manhattan, across the Brooklyn Bridge and into Cadman Plaza Park in Brooklyn" "in a show of solidarity for New York’s Jewish community in the wake of a spate of anti-Semitic attacks" in the New York metropolitan area[2]

- March 27: Around 3:15 AM, a northbound 2 train of the New York City Subway caught fire as it entered the Central Park North–110th Street station in Harlem, Manhattan. The fire killed the operator and injured at least 16 others.[8][9]
