2021 Australian Open – Wheelchair Men's Doubles
Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid were the defending champions and successfully defended their title, defeating Stéphane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer in the final, 7–5, 7–6(7–3). The Wheelchair Men's Doubles competition, consisting of a semifinal round and a championship match, began on 15 February.[1] The competition features the same field of eight players contesting the Wheelchair Men's Singles competition. Two of the tournament's four pairs were seeded, with British duo Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid receiving the No. 1 seed and French duo Stéphane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer getting the No. 2 seed. In the semifinals, Hewett and Reid were paired with the team of Gustavo Fernández and Shingo Kunieda. The former duo won the first set in convincing fashion, but Fernández and Kunieda took the second set to force a third set, which consisted only of a tiebreak rather than a full set. The tiebreak was won 10–7 by Hewett and Reid, giving them a berth in the final.[2] The second semifinal paired Houdet and Peifer with the duo of Joachim Gérard and Ben Weekes; the former pair won in two sets, 6–4, 6–2, to advance to the championship match.[3] The final was played on the 16 February in what was a rematch of the 2020 final.[2] The British pair of Hewett and Reid took their tenth Grand Slam title as a duo with the pair winning in straight sets.[4]
