22nd Army Corps (Russian Federation)

The 22nd Army Corps, (Russian: 22-й армейский корпус, romanized: 22-y Armeyskiy Korpus) is a tactical formation of the Russian Army formed in 2017 as part of the Southern Military District after the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation. It is based in Crimea and headquartered in Simferopol.[1]

Russian Federation

The 22nd Army Corps was formed on 1 December 2016, after the annexation of the Crimea by Russia. The corps includes units of the coastal troops of the Black Sea Fleet, and is ultimately part of the Southern Military District.[2][3][4][5]

In December 2018, the corps was awarded a 'Battle Banner' after distinguishing itself on combat missions.[3]

    • 4th Separate CBRN Protection Regiment[6]
