AREX Class 2000
The AREX Class 2000[1] is a train of the Airport Railroad operated by the Incheon International Airport Railroad. Unlike Unit 1000, it is a commuter train and operates by regular trains. Like commuter trains on other routes or vehicles on urban railroads, there are no toilets or washbasins. Currently, a total of 6 units and 22 units (132 units) are in operation. The driving sound uses the same IGBT as the KTX-Sancheon 140000.

Generations
1st generation (2005 ~ 2006)
- This applies to the 201-209.
- It was first introduced on December 28, 2005 in preparation for the opening of the first stage section in 2007.
2nd generation (2009 ~ 2010)
- It corresponds to 210 to 220.
- It was prepared for the opening of the second phase section in 2010.
3rd generation (2017)
- This applies to 221 to 222.
- It was started on May 30 and July 7, 2017 in preparation for the opening of the third phase of the section in 2018.

Accident
Train 210, which left Seoul Station at midnight on December 9, 2011, left Gyeyang station at 12:30 pm with 15 passengers on board and headed to Geomam station, the final station, and hit a group of workers working while travelling at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour, but failed to avoid the accident due to its fast speed. Two out of eight Korail Tech workers managed to avoid being injured, but five out of six people hit by train 210 died and one suffered serious injuries. Train 210 suffered extensive damage to the first lead compartment of unit 2810.
