Aiden Thomas (author)

Aiden Thomas is a Latinx-American author of young adult novels. They are best known for their book Cemetery Boys, which was a New York Times bestseller has won numerous awards, including best of the year recognition from the American Library Association,[1][2] Publishers Weekly,[3] Barnes and Noble,[4] NPR,[5] and School Library Journal.[6]

Thomas identifies as trans and uses the pronouns he/him and they/them.[7] They advocate for diverse representation in media.[8]

Personal life

Thomas was born in Oakland, California and received their MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College.[8] They currently live in Portland, Oregon.[7]

Cemetery Boys was published September 1, 2020 by Swoon Reads and tells the story of Yadriel, who's queer, trans, Latino, and a witch. Unfortunately, his family doesn't recognize him as a man, which has serious effects on his witching ability.

The book was named a best seller by the New York Times and IndieBound,[9] and received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly[10] and Booklist.[11]

Lost in the Never Woods

Lost in the Never Woods was published March 23, 2021 by Swoon Reads and is a retelling of Peter Pan. The book, as well as the audiobook, received a starred review from Booklist.[23][24]
