Akalapuzha River

Akalapuzha is a saltwater river in Kozhikode district. It is one of the starting points of the Korapuzha.

(Akalapuzha is not a river. It is a backwater connected to korappuzha river. For six months it is salt water in Akalapuzha.

This river is shallow and blessed with a lot of fish and shellfish. The surrounding area is very calm and very suitable for developing as a tourist spot. The most beautiful spots near Akalapuzha are near Mukkam Kadav near Purakkattiri.
