Aleksey Salyayev

Aleksey Mikhailovich Salyayev (Russian: Алексей Михайлович Саляев; born 4 December 1975), is a Russian naval officer, who is a sailor, captain of the II rank of the Coast Guard of the FSB of Russia, commander of the PSKR "Don".

Biography

Aleksey Salyayev was born in 4 December 1975.

From 1983 to 1993 he studied at the school №221.

He commanded the patrol ship "Don". Prior to the Russian aggression against Ukraine, he served on Sakhalin.

Kerch Strait incident

On November 25, 2018, the ship "Don" under Salyayev's command was involved in an incident near the Kerch Strait. Salyayev ordered to ram the Ukrainian tug Yana Kapu, which was going to the port of the Sea of Azov.[1].

A recording of the telephone conversation and its transcription was published on the official SBU channel on YouTube. According to the record, Salyaev first talks to an unidentified officer of the FSB border control. Then with the head of the service in Kerch of the FSB border control in the occupied territory of Crimea, Captain of the 2nd rank Aleksey Shatokhin. The conversation also features Gennady Medvedev (born in 1959), who is the deputy head of the FSB border service - head of the Coast Guard.

Another recording of the conversation and its transcription has already been published on the official channel "General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine" on YouTube. As proof of the purposeful aggressive escalation of the situation in the Black and Azov Seas by the Russian Federation.

Due to the attack, Salyayev was added to the database "Peacemaker".[2].

The Security Service of Ukraine and the Military Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine charged him under Article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Art. 437 (planning, preparing, launching and waging an aggressive war).[3][4]

Personal life

He is married arried to Anna Bespalova, and raises a child. He lives in Sevastopol
