Alfred Christian Fleckenstein

Alfred Christian Fleckenstein (1871-1952) was an American writer.

Born on June 23, 1871, in Mount Vernon, New York,[1][2] the son of Christian Henry Fleckenstein and Frances Youngck. He attended the University of Pennsylvania between 1889 and 1893 and graduated in 1893, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree. From 1894 to 1897 he worked as an Instructor of Mechanical Engineering in Pennsylvania.[3]

From 1887 to 1888 he was a member of the First Regiment of the National Guard of Pennsylvania.[3]

In 1898 he joined the United States Volunteer Army.[4]

He married Effie W. Jester, and had one son, Richard J. Fleckenstein.[1][2]

He died in 1952.[5]

In 1898 he published his sole work of fiction, the fantastic romance The Prince of Gravas,[6][7] cited in the list of classics of fantastic literature by Robert Reginald and Douglas Menville in "Classics of Fantastic Literature, Selected Review Essays".[8]
