Alper Çağlar

Süleyman Alper Caglar (born September 1, 1986) is a Turkish film director, editor and screenwriter.[1][2]

Life

He was born in Ankara as the second child of his family. Considered one of Turkey's youngest auteur directors, he directed his first documentary film called "Not So Far Away" in Kyrgyzstan in his second year of high school at the age of 13. After he finished his high school then Alper received scholarships to study from the US University and he studied at the University of Virginia in USA. He completed his studies with Media Relations, Communication and finally Graphic Design Department at Bilkent University.[3][4] Directing his first feature length film at the age of 27, he came to be considered a trailblazer in genre filmmaking known for writing, directing and editing all his films. With the blockbuster global success of Mountain II in 2016, he has collaborated with Netflix, Amazon, BluTV and Kinostar in several simultaneous projects as a producer.
