Andreas Grailich

Andreas Grailich (28 April 1768, in Rosenau in Gömör County – 27 June 1843, in Zurndorf in Moson County) was a Lutheran pastor in Zurndorf between 1792 and 1843.

Education

From 16 October 1786 to 28 August 1789 Andreas Grailich studied at the Lutheran School in Pressburg. From 23 October 1789 he started his studies in theology at Lutheran Theology in Jena, Germany.

Career

He was Lutheran pastor in Zurndorf in Moson County from 1792 to 1843.

He had publications in German language about the history of Moson County, translated to Hungarian in 2004.

Biography

Grailich was born in Rosenau in Gömör County. After finishing theology in Jena he intended to go back to his hometown Rosenau as Lutheran pastor. His application was not accepted, thus he went to Zurndorf.

He married Friderike Eleanora Busch in 1793 in Germany, they had 4 children. One of their sons, Friedrich Joseph Grailich became teacher at Lutheran School in Pressburg, who was father of Wilhelm Josef Grailich.

His first wife died in 1799 in Zurndorf. He married Theresia Huszty in 1800, they had 7 children.
