Arab Gathering
The Arab Gathering (Arabic: التجمع العربي Tajammu al-Arabi) was a Libyan-sponsored racist and Arab supremacist group that operated in Darfur in the 1980s.[1] The Arab Gathering was created by the Islamic Legion with the purpose of organizing the Arab Baggara tribes to combat the growing Fur nationalism and arabize the region. This organization is considered to be the origin of the current Janjaweed militias.
