Artem Yasynskyy

Artem Yasynskyy (born 1988 in Donetsk, Ukrainian SSR) is a classical pianist and university lecturer.


Career

Yasynskyy was born in 1988 into a family of professional musicians in Donetsk [1].At the age of seven he was a student of Albina Oryschuk at the Special School for Gifted Children in Donetsk and gave his first public concert at the age of eight. A scholarship from the President of Ukraine from 2006 to 2010 enabled him to study at the Prokofiev State Academy of Music, where he also took composition lessons with Aleksander Rudjansky. In 2010, he graduated with honors from his bachelor's degree program.[2]

Artem Yasynskyy went to Germany in 2010 to begin postgraduate studies at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen with Patrick O'Byrne. This was followed by a master's degree, from which he graduated with honors. His studies were supported by various scholarships including the Keyboard Charitable Trust, the Vere Music Fund, the Fondation Clavarte, the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, and the Hans and Stefan Bernbeck Foundation. In March 2015, he completed his master's degree and became a lecturer in piano major at the same university.

In addition to his concert performances in Germany, he has traveled to Ukraine, the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and South Korea. He has given concerts at the Rarities of Piano Music Festival in Husum, Germany; the Paderewsky Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina; the Honens Festival in Calgary, Canada; the Bremen Music Festival in Germany; the Bachauer Artist Series in Salt Lake City; the Festival of Young Pianists in Vienna, Austria; the Maggio Piano Festival in Vercelli, Italy; and the Summer Night Music Festival in Kyiv, Ukraine.

He has performed as a soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra; Utah Symphony Orchestra; Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra; Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra; National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. In 2016, he made his Carnegie Hall debut. His interpretations have been broadcast by Radio Bremen, NWR 3, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, and CBC/Radio-Canada, among others.
