Economy

Ayagawa is well known within Kagawa prefecture for several notable udon noodle shops, as well as the Takinomiya Tenmangu Shrine. It has suffered a collapse of local businesses due to the construction of a large shopping complex. As a result, the former commercial areas are in a state of decay.

Transportation

Public transport in Ayagawa is limited. There is a shuttle bus service which has stops in various locations around the city; however, the frequency of shuttles is limited to roughly 1 every hour.
