Barkaa

Barkaa is a Malyangapa and Barkindji musician.[1] Born Chloe Quayle, she lived in the western Sydney suburb Merrylands during her childhood, where she was known for performing rap at high school. She entered rap competitions in Blacktown.[2] She takes her name from the Barkindji word for the Darling River. [3]Her music reflects her experiences with incarceration, child removal and addiction. [4]

Barkaa is currently signed to Bad Apples Music, founded by Briggs. [3]
