Bathing (painting)

Bathing, Children Bathing or The Bathing Pool is a c.1650-1670 oil on canvas painting, acquired by the Louvre Museum in 1914, which still owns it.[1]

At the time of its acquisition by the Louvre it was in the Schlichting and thought to be an early work by Nicolas Maes. During the 1920s and 1930s many art historians raised doubts as to the attribution and instead suggested it was closer to other artists' styles, such as Jacob van Loo.[2]
