Battle of La Canela
The Battle of La Canela was fought on 4 December 1864 in Neiba, Dominican Republic, during the War of Restoration (1863–65) between Dominican separatists and Spain. Dominican General José María Cabral with about 600 troops defeated a smaller Spanish force in an open field.
