Bidemi Olaoba

Abidemi Ayodeji Ogunmolu, also known as Bidemi Olaoba, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter and music composer known for his rendering Gospel HighLife music in a Fuji Style.[1]

Biography

Early life

Olaoba was born into a Christian home in Lagos, Nigeria into a family of six and he comes from Ikale Okitipupa, Ondo State.[2] Bidemi studied Civil Engineering at the Yaba College Of Technology, Lagos and also studied Economics[3] at the University Of Lagos, Nigeria.


Musical career

Known for his popular phrase "The Bible Says",[4][5][6] Olaoba Started his musical career as a worship leader from the choir at Christ Apostolic Church[7] and has since been involved in the CAC Music Ministry and Redeemed Christian Church of God. After beginning his official career, Olaoba released his first single, Final Say, in the year 2016.[8]

Olaoba was introduced majorly as an artist, when he was invited to perform Marathon Praise,[9][10] an event organized by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and then gained popularity. He has six studio singles, two live performance compilations, and various collaborations with popular gospel artists. Olaoba has travelled to different nations and continents including Europe, America and several nations in the African continent to perform at several events, he has also held several virtual concerts and is the pioneer of the virtual concert Unrestricted Praise[11][12] which started in 2020 which featured gospel artists like Buchi, Tope Alabi, Mike Abdul, Adeleke Adeboye, Eben, Samie Okposo and has had eight episodes.

Olaoba has performed at some of Nigeria's biggest gospel gatherings, including the Marathon Messiah's Praise[9] concert by the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Festival Of Life[13] (Dubai, Dublin, Italy and United Kingdom), MASS, HI-impact Praise, and COZA.
