"Black and Blue" is a song written and performed by American band Van Halen for their 1988 album OU812. It was the first single released from the album, peaking at #34 on the Billboard Hot 100.[1] and #1 on the Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart,[2]

Chuck Klosterman of Vulture.com ranked it the 97th-best Van Halen song, noting that "in 1990, New Hampshire high school employee Pamela Smart used "Black and Blue" to sexually seduce a 15-year-old male student, later convincing the teen to murder her husband."[3]
