Background

On November 15, 2021, MLW announced that it would be holding Blood & Thunder at Gilley's Dallas in North Richland Hills, Texas on January 21, 2022.[1][2]

Storylines

The supercard will consist of matches that result from scripted storylines, where wrestlers portrayed villains, heroes, or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches, with results predetermined by MLW's writers.[3]

On November 11, MLW announced on their website an "open door" policy, allowing for the top free agents in wrestling to come into MLW and set up new, exciting matches.[4] Since the announcement, various wrestlers have been announced for Blood & Thunder, including Hong Kong's Ho Ho Lun,[5] All Japan Pro Wrestling upstart tag team Jun and Rei Saito,[6] and ROH Women's World Champion Rok-C.[7]
