Boris Lee Krutonog

Boris Lee Krutonog is a Moldovan-born actor, producer and entrepreneur. Krutonog is known for his film and television roles including The Hunt For Red October, Star Trek VI, The Italian Job, The Americans. Krutonog also co-executive produced the reality series Dog The Bounty Hunter. Additionally, he is the president and CEO of AmWest Ambulance, an emergency ambulance company in Los Angeles.

Life and career

Krutonog was born in Chișinău, Moldavian SSR (then part of the Soviet Union, now Moldova) to Lev Krutonog and Ada Krutonog. The family emigrated to Israel in 1976. When he was 18, Krutonog moved to New York. After graduating from Columbia University with a degree in Industrial Engineering he worked at McDonnell Douglas for two years and then launched a theater company with a friend where he both produced and starred in those productions.[1][2][3]

Krutonog got his first movie acting role after being discovered at a party in New York City and was cast in a low budget action film for a minor role, which turned into two starring roles.. A few months later, director John McTiernan, cast him in "The Hunt For Red October". Krutonog then went on to star in mainly supporting roles in both films and television shows such as "Air America", "Love Affair", "Monolith", "Air Force One", "The Italian Job", "Devil’s Fruit", "V.I.P" and more.[4][5][6][7][8][9]

Krutonog is also known for playing Lt. Commander Lojur in "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" and for later reprising this role in "Star Trek: Voyager".[10]

In 2004, Krutonog launched the reality TV series "Dog the Bounty Hunter" which chronicled Duane "Dog" Chapman's experiences as a bounty hunter.[11] Krutonog also served as co-executive producer on the series for eight years.[12][13]

In 2010, Krutonog started AmWest Ambulance - an emergency ambulance service in Los Angeles.[14][15]

In 2015 Krutonog was cast in the Golden Globe and Peabody awards winning TV series The Americans appeared as a recurring character on the show from seasons three to six.[16][17]

Krutonog is also known as a voice actor, and has lent his voice to a great number of video games, including "Soldier Of Fortune II: Double Helix", "James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing", "Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain", "Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow" and "World In Conflict: Soviet Assault".
