Boxed (film)

Boxed is a 2019 American thriller short film directed by Wanjiru M. Njendu and co-produced by Njendu and Bongani Mlambo. The film stars Adetokumboh M'Cormack in the lead roles whereas Peres Owino, William Joseph Hill, Emerson Gregori, Gregor Manns and Mikey Kettinger made supportive roles as voice artists.[1] The film tells the story of Henry "Box" Brown, a slave in 1849 who used creativity and courage for the terrifying daring escape.[2]

The film was shot in Los Angeles.[3] The film premiered on 22 February 2019 at the Oregon Short Film Festival.[4][5] The film received positive reviews from critics. The film was screened in several film festivals rewarded with 21 wins and 14 nominations.[6]
