Caleb Hearon

Caleb Hearon (born January 24, 1995)[1] is an American comedian, writer and actor. He performed stand-up regularly in Chicago and also performed at iO Theater until relocating to Los Angeles in 2020. Hearon is a writer for the upcoming series Human Resources.[2]

Early life and education

Hearon grew up in a rural, conservative town in Missouri.[3] He was raised in a Christian household and was an active member of his church.[4] He recognized he was gay from adolescence and, as a result of his religion, struggled with his sexuality.[4] Hearon came out as gay after college.[5]

Hearon attended Missouri State University as an undergraduate with plans to eventually enroll in law school or another graduate program.[3][6] He joined the improv team and that catalyzed his decision to pursue a career in comedy.[4] After graduation in 2017 he moved to Chicago with other members of the team.[1][5]

Career

Hearon's professional comedy career began in Chicago, where he performed a weekly variety show at iO Theater as well as a stand-up show At What Cost? every month at Lincoln Lodge.[5] He later toured the showcase At What Cost? with fellow comedian and collaborator Holmes Holmes in Los Angeles and New York.[5]

He gained wider prominence in 2019 for his comedic Twitter videos, which are frequently up close and forward-facing.[4][6] While he had not previously used his social media accounts for comedy, he began to do so after auditioning for Saturday Night Live.[3] One of his viral videos was captioned: "pov you’re a close friend venting to me about a situation where you were entirely in the wrong."[5]

Hearon has acted in supporting roles on Work in Progress and Fargo.[5] In 2020 he joined the writing staff for Human Resources, a Big Mouth spin-off series.[3]

In June 2021, he was announced as a series regular in TBS pilot Space.[7]

Personal life

Hearon is openly gay.[3] He relocated to Los Angeles from Chicago in 2020.[4][8]
