Canary (video game)

Canary (カナリア 〜この想いを歌に乗せて〜, Kanaria ~kono omoi o uta ni nosete~) is the first eroge game made by Front Wing, and has also been adapted into an anime OVA, which is not hentai. The game was re-released for the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 in non-adult content.

Story

Game

Youhei Hozumi is a Tokyo man who moves to Shizoku to meet his uncle at who runs a music studio in the area. During his first day out of town, he stumbles upon a few people who were in his uncle's studio and felt interested in their band. He later finds out that the people who were in the studio also attended Kotohira Gakuen. After he introduces himself to the band members, the band told him that there wasn't a singer in their band and were struggling to find one. Depending on who you choose, the story changes upon the dating choices you choose. The PC game consists of six dating potentials. Ayana Saeki, Katagiri Mika, Eri Hozumi, Chigasaki Megumi and Yahegi Sena.

OVA

Mika Katagiri wants her band to perform at the upcoming local festival. However, complications arise. Their keyboardist, Jun, refuses to play, and their stage has been canceled. Refusing to give up, Mika and her band strive to find a way to play at the festival, using any means necessary.

Reception

On release, Famitsu magazine scored the Dreamcast version of the game a 30 out of 40.[1]

THEM Anime gave the OVA a negative review, stating that it relied too much on sight gags while have poor plotting and no character development.[2]
