Caroline Rowland

Caroline Rowland is a British / Swiss filmmaker and entrepreneur. She founded the media technology venture Egoli Media Inc in 2019. In 1996 she founded New Moon, a sports and education production company.[1] In 2014, she founded the content creation company Field of Play Sport & Entertainment Ltd which acquired the New Moon content archive.

Caroline grew up in South Africa and resides between London and California.

She is an English and Journalism graduate of Rhodes University[2] and serves as a Trustee of the Rhodes University Trust.[3] She is a member of the England Cricket Board Hundred Board.

She was described by BAFTA's Academy Magazine as "hot young talent" in the British Film Industry and in 2007, Caroline was an Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist.

In 2011, Caroline was honoured with the South African Business Club 'Woman in Business of the Year' award and in 2016 was awarded the Distinguished Old Rhodian Award by her Alma Mater. In 2019, she was honoured with inclusion in the FICTS Olympic Hall of Fame with the award of the Guirlande d'Honneur for her contribution to Olympic Filmmaking.

Caroline has been credited as being one of the ten most influential people in the Bid for the London 2012 Olympics. New Moon produced the two films for the London bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Sport at Heart and Inspiration have since been awarded 26 Awards between them.

Caroline's directorial debut 'FIRST: The Official Film of the London 2012 Olympic Games' was nominated for a 2014 Emmy and was awarded Best Documentary Feature at the Moondance Film Festival.

Caroline's production credits include the six part documentary series 'Legends Live On', the film Belief for the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics, the films for Sochi's successful bid to host the 2014 Winter Olympics the films for the successful Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup bid, and the films for PyeongChang's successful bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics. In 2009 she produced the feature documentary We Are the People We've Been Waiting For about the education system in the UK and in 2013 directed and produced Rogge: Profile of an IOC President. She is an Executive Producer of the documentary film "Seve" to be released in the Autumn of 2021.
