Catherine Buckle

Buckle writes not from the perspective of an academic or a historian, but as a single mum living in rural Zimbabwe. Her "Letter from Zimbabwe" blog is read around the world, and is often featured in print and broadcast media outlets. Buckle originally trained as a social worker at the University of Rhodesia, graduating in social work in 1979.

Buckle has written four books for children, one of which was selected as a set book in 2017 for English literature students in Zimbabwean senior schools. One of her memoirs, African Tears, which chronicles the personal story of the invasion of her farm bought after Zimbabwean independence and with government approval,[1] was serialized in the UK's The Sunday Times,[2] South Africa's Femina magazine and Rapport newspaper.[3]
