Charcoal Traffic

Charcoal Traffic is a 2008 Kenyan-Somali short drama film directed by Nathan Collett and co-produced by James Lindsay and Fatima Jibrell.[1] The film stars Mahamad Abdirahman Saiid and Abdilaahi Hassan Ali with Mustafe Abdiraxman Hadji, Fadumo Maxamed, and Kaytuun Fayte in supporting roles.[2] This short film is about two brothers who trapped in a environmental and cultural devastation in Somalia. It is first fictional film shot in Somalia in over 15 years.[3][4]

The film has been shot completely in Bosasso, Somalia, by using an all Somali cast. The film premiered on 2 October 2008 at the Raindance Film Festival.[5] In October 2018, the film won the Best Short Fiction Award at the VideoFest in San Francisco, California.[6]
