Chhatrapal Singh (soldier)

Paratrooper Chattarpal Singh, SM (12 August 1997 – 5 April 2020)[1] was a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO). He was a part of the Counter-Insurgency & Counter-Terrorism Operation called “Operation Randori Behak.”[2][3] He was killed in action in the operation. He was posthumously awarded the Sena Medal for his bravery and gallant action on 15 August 2020.[4][5][6]

Early life

Chhatarpal Singh was born on 12 August 1997. He was from Jhunjhunu district’s Chhawashri village in Rajasthan. His father's name is Suresh Kumar Pal and mother's name is Shashikala Devi. He joined the army at the age of 18 in 2015. He volunteered for the Para (SF). After a three-month probation period, he was assigned to the Parachute Regiment's 4th Special Forces Battalion.[7][1]
