Coastal Cup (rugby union)
The Coastal Cup tournament is a fall rugby union competition in British Columbia. The Coastal Cup was created to bridge the gap between amateur club rugby and professional rugby. The inaugural competition features regional sides, the Canadian National Development Academy, and three university programs. The commissioner of the Coastal Cup is former rugby Canada international Eddie Evans.

History
The Coastal Cup debuts on 25 September 2021 and will run through to 13 November 2021. The inaugural season will feature the historical regional sides, Vancouver Wave and Vancouver Island Crimson Tide, new regional side Van East Rugby, the Canadian National Development Academy, Pacifc Pride, and three university sides in UBC Thunderbirds, University of Victoria, and Trinity Western University.[1]
