Colin McColl
Sir Colin Hugh Verel McColl, KCMG (born 6 September 1932)[1] was Head of the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) from 1989 to 1994.

Career
Educated at Shrewsbury School and at Queen's College, Oxford,[2] McColl joined the diplomatic service in 1950.[3] He served in Laos, Vietnam, Warsaw and Geneva[3] before he was appointed Chief of the Secret Intelligence Service in 1989.[4][1] In retirement he was a Director of the Scottish American Investment Company.[5]
He was Chairman of the Pimpernel Trust from 1997 to 2014.[1]
In 1996 he was appointed an Honorary Fellow of Queen's College, Oxford.[2]
