Consort Wan (Yingzong)

Consort Jingzhuanganmuchen, (靖莊安穆宸妃 萬氏; 1431 – 22 December 1467), of the Wan clan, was a consort of Emperor Yingzong of Ming.

Her father Wan Ju (萬聚) was originally a soldier.

Lady Wan was born in 1431 and was elected in 1443 to enter the inner court. Later, she became a concubine of Emperor Yingzong.

In 1448, she gave birth Zhu Jianlin, Prince of De, his second son. On 2 August 1449, she gave birth to his third son, prince Zhu Jianshi, who would die prematurely in 30 August 1451. After the Tumu Crisis, Emperor Yingzong returned to Beijing and was confined in the Southern Palace. Lady Wan lived there with Yingzong. In 1453, she gave birth to Princess Chun'an and in the following year she gave birth to Princess Guangde. In 1456, Zhu Jianjun, Prince of Ji, was born. In 1457, after the restoration of Emperor Yingzong, Lady Wan was granted a title "Consort Chen".[1]

Lady Wan was the favorite consort of Emperor Yingzong[2]
