Core (Persefone album)

Core is the second album by metal band Persefone. The album was released on 23 August 2006 by label Soundholic. The album was re-released on 18 April 2014. Core was released worldwide through Vicisolum Records. The album included a 16-page booklet and a bonus track. Pere Revert was involved in the producing of the album (Shin-ken, Spiritual Migration).

Concept

The album contains three songs, each with a length of an average 23 minutes that include multiple acts and multiple parts named "Sanctuary: Light and Grief" (four acts and eleven parts), "Underworld: The Fallen and the Butterfly" (4 acts and 10 parts) and "Seed: Core and Persephone" (five acts and seven parts). The album retells the Greek mythological story of Persephone. The album's title derives from Kore (pronounced "KOR-ee"), an alternate name for Persephone.
