Cypress Avenue, Belfast

Cypress Avenue is a residential street in East Belfast running between Bloomfield Road and North Road, parallel with the Upper Newtownards Road. Many of the properties along the Avenue are from the Victorian or Edwardian period.

Conservation Area

Cypress Avenue was designated an Area Of Townscape Character in 1992. In August 2000 Belfast Divisional Planning Office designated Cyprus Avenue a Conservation Area in recognition of the special townscape merits of the area.[1]

In modern culture

The Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, composed a song called Cyprus Avenue which was included on his album Astral Weeks
