Dante Chen

Sean Tan (born 1995 or 1996) is a Singaporean professional wrestler. He is currently signed to the American professional wrestling promotion WWE where he performs under the ring name Dante Chen; he is the first Singaporean wrestler to have worked for WWE.[3]

Education

Tan did business studies at ITE College West, and subsequently studied for a diploma in health management and promotion at Republic Polytechnic in 2020.[1][3]

Professional wrestling career

Sean Tan trained at Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW) in 2012,[4] and debuted under the ring name Trexxus in 2013.[3] He was eventually a SPW Southeast Asian Champion.[2] In 2019, Tan was invited for WWE tryouts in Shanghai, alongside Andruew "The Statement" Tang, co-founder of SPW, and Alexis Lee Xin Yi.[4][5] He was recruited immediately after the tryouts,[1] but only went to Orlando, Florida in April 2021 after he had completed his studies and a delay due to COVID-19 pandemic.[1][3][4]

Tan debuted on 22 September 2021 on the NXT brand under the ring name "Dante Chen", winning his first match.[2] Dante Chen debuted on the 205 Live brand on 1st October 2021, winning his first match on the show and second in WWE.[6]
