Darul Huda Islamic Academy

Darul Huda Islamic Academy[1][2] is the most prominent Sunni madrasah[3][4] in the district of Malappuram. The academy is registered under the Societies Registration Act (165/1989).[5] Kerala State President of Indian Union Muslim League, Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal is the president of the Managing Committee and Bahauddeen Muhammed Kooriyad is the Vice principal[6] of the madrasa and Vice president of the committee.[7]

History

Darul Huda is established in 1986 as a Madrasa. Currently, it has affiliated institutes all across Kerala and other states in India including Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka and Assam.[8] Besides the Malayalam speaking students of Kerala, it also serves Urdu speaking students of north India.[9] According to the Peninsula Qatar, the university has produced hundreds of proficient Islamic scholars aims at empowering the community with scholars versed in Islamic knowledge and modern sciences.[8] The university's contribution in the empowerment of Muslim community is also well recognized.[10]

Academics

The academy offers a 12-year course that integrates religious education with general subjects.[11] Four Indian universities approved some of the madrasa courses of the Darul Huda for admissions. Including:
