Dashcam (horror film)

Dashcam (stylized as DASHCAM) is a 2021 computer screen horror film directed by Rob Savage and written by Gemma Hurley, Savage and Jed Shepherd.[1] It stars Annie Hardy and the film was produced by Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Productions banner. The entire film is shot from the perspective of either Hardy's hand-held iPhone or the dashcam in her car, as she livestreams her actions for viewers whose comments on the events are also displayed.[2]

Not to be confused with Dashcam (thriller film).

The film premiered in the Midnight Madness selection at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2021, where it was named second runner up for the People's Choice Award: Midnight Madness.[3]

Plot

A woman travels to the United Kingdom to escape COVID-19-related lockdowns in the United States and continues filming her livestreamed Band Car show, only to be drawn into a horrific situation when she is asked to transport the blood-spewing Angela in her car.[4]

The website's critics consensus reads: "DASHCAM is visually and thematically provocative, although the film's grating protagonist undercuts its effectiveness."[6] On Metacritic has a weighted average score of 45 out of 100, based on 8 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews."[7]
