Dave's Killer Bread
Dave's Killer Bread is an American company based in Milwaukie, Oregon, which makes organic whole-grain breads. As of 2012, its bread was being sold at stores in 11 western states.[1] It was started by Dave Dahl, who learned the baking trade growing up in his family bakery. Founded in 2005, the company has steadily grown, expanding from 30 employees to more than 190 by 2010[2] and to 280 by the end of 2012, and has been covered by The New York Times[2] and MSNBC.[3] The company specializes in breads made with seeds and whole grains, including spelt and sprouted wheat and free of animal products and chemical additives.[4] In 2015, Dave's Killer Bread was purchased by Flower Foods for $275 million. Dave Dahl reportedly received $33 million in the sale.[5]
