Dave Rosenbaum

Dave Rosenbaum is an American filmmaker. He is a CCO of Cinesite a VFX and Animation Company.[1] Recent animated projects include MGM's Addams Family, David Silverman's Extinct and Mel Brooks' Blazing Samurai.[2] He is best known as the Vice President of Talent for Illumination Entertainment overseeing artists and stories for the franchises Despicable Me, Secret Life of Pets and Sing.[3] Dave was with Illumination at its inception and over the course of his nine year tenure, worked on nine feature films, dozens of shorts, multiple theme park rides, video games and global merchandise.[4]

Dave is a writer and director of Riverdance: The Animated Adventure (2021) based on the global stage sensation, featuring Bill Whelan's Grammy winning music and starring Pierce Brosnan, Lilly Singh and Brendan Gleeson. Dave is also producer of Pulitzer Prize winner Berkeley Breathed's Hitpig (2022) starring Peter Dinklage, Lilly Singh, RuPaul and Anitta. Both projects, along with Blazing Samurai, fall under the Aniventure banner, a production company where Dave serves on the board.[5][6]

Early life and Education

David Lawrence Rosenbaum was born in Washington, DC. Dave attended the University of Richmond in Virginia on the Welsh Theatre Scholarship and received the dual degrees of B.S. in Business Administration and B.A. in Theatre.[7] He graduated with honours receiving the H. G. Quigg Award, the E. Bruce Heilman Award and the University's top honour, the University Mace Award.[8]

Dave received his Master's Degree in Producing from The American Film Institute.[9] His film mentors include Sid Ganis, Chris Meledandri, Warren Franklin, Peter Nagle, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Melissa Cobb and Marcia Lucas.
