David Spiegel

David Spiegel, M.D., is the Wilson Professor and Associate Chair of Psychiatry at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he is known for his research into breast cancer.[1] He directs the Stanford Center on Stress and Health[2] and is "one of the nation's most respected experts in the clinical uses of hypnosis".[3]

Education

Spiegel received his bachelor's degree in philosophy from Yale College in 1967 followed by his M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 1971.[4]

Research

Spiegel is author of more than 480 journal articles, 170 book chapters on hypnosis, psychosocial oncology, stress physiology, trauma, and psychotherapy.[5] He's published thirteen books.
