Delaney Schnell

Delaney Schnell (born December 21, 1998 in Iron Mountain, Michigan) is an American diver. She won a bronze medal in the 10 meter platform at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships and a silver medal in the 10 meter synchronized platform at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She competes collegiately for the University of Arizona.

Career

2019 World Aquatics Championships

At the 2019 World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju, South Korea in July, Schnell won a bronze medal in the 10 metre platform competition with a score of 364.20 points.[3]

2020 Summer Olympics

Schnell qualified to represent the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics, held in Tokyo, Japan in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in the 10 meter platform and the synchronized 10 meter platform (with Jessica Parratto).[4][5] It was the first Olympic Games she qualified to compete in.[6] Schnell and Parratto placed second in the synchronized 10 meter platform and won the silver medal, which was the first Olympic medal for the United States in the event.[7] Individually, Schnell placed fifth in the final of the 10 meter platform event.[8]
