Dianne Griffin

Dianne Griffin, is an American filmmaker, producer, editor and production manager.[1] She is best known for directing the 2004 Eritrean documentary film White Hotel along with Tobi Solvang.[2]

Career

She is based in San Francisco, where in a career spanning over 25 years, she has directed and produced many award winning documentaries. In 1971, he worked as the assistant producer in the television serial As the World Turns. Then she became the production manager for two films Deadlock and The Spirit of '76. In 1999, Griffin made his directorial debut by making the Video documentary short Jewels of the Mekong. After the success of the short, in 2001, she co-directed and produced the documentary White Hotel with Tobi Solvang, which was shot in Eritrea.[3] The film made its premier at the New Directors New Film Series at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.[4] The film received positive reviews from critics.

In 2016, she directed the documentary Painted Nails, based on Vietnam. The documentary was invited to screen in over 35 film festivals in Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia and China.[5] She has also chaired the jury at the United Nations Association Film Festival for over 19 years.
