Emmanuel Nartey
Dr Emmanuel K Nartey (born 18 April 1983 in Accra), is a Ghanaian judoka. He competed in the men's 73 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was eliminated by Dex Elmont in the second round.[1] He was the first judoka to represent Ghana at the Olympic Games.[2]
He started his academic journey with a BA in Business Management, before doing his LLM in international trade and economic law. After his LLM he did my Ph.D. in international law and human rights law before completing his MSc in International Relations and Comparative Public Policy at the Uni-versity of East London. At the University of East London, he developed an interest in financial crimes and human decision-making. The focus of my research in this area is to use psychology to explain the complex financial structure and human decision-making.
He also, work as a director of the Global Legal Review. An advocate for women's rights, he served as the Head of the Research Ethics and Integrity Committee at the International Women’s Initiative before moving to Coventry University as a Visiting Scholar, and then to Cardiff Met University as a Senior Law Lecturer. He is also a Member of Scope Database International Advisory Board, Member Editorial Board Member for VIT Press International Journal of Law and Legal Studies and VIT Press International Journal of Business Law He is th co-author of The Successful Spirit: Top Performers Share Secrets to a Winning Minset and author of Accountability and Corporate Human Rights Violations in Tort and International Law book. His research focuses on international law and human rights, environmental law, public and civil law, tort law, and criminal law, among others.
Nartey studied at the University of the West of England and the University of Law. He serves in the British Army.[3][4] He is the author of a book titled "My Olympic Dream".[2]
