Erickson Gallardo

Erickson Yirson Gallardo Toro (born 26 July 1996) is a Venezuelan footballer who plays as a winger for Canadian club Toronto FC. He is also a member of the Venezuelan national team.

Club career

He joined Zamora in 2014 and featured prominently over his five years with the club.[1]

In 2019, he signed with Toronto FC in Major League Soccer.[2] After suffering a quad strain shortly after joining the club, he made his debut for Toronto on August 7, 2019 in a Canadian Championship match against Ottawa Fury FC.[3] In hist debut season, he recorded one assist in five MLS league matches.[4]

In a CONCACAF Champions League match on April 7, 2021 against Mexican side León, after coming on as a substitute, Gallardo created the tying goal in the first leg, intercepting the ball before making a pass which was deflected by a defender for an own goal,[5] but later had to leave the match due to suffering an injury.[6] In 2021, after recovering from his injury, he was loaned to Toronto FC II for some matches.[7]

International career

Gallardo made his international debut for the Venezuela national team in a 1–1 friendly tie with Ecuador on 1 June 2019.[8]

Personal

In 2019, Gallardo and his wife had a daughter, born in Canada.[9]
