Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences (AHVS)

The Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences (AHVS), is a Faculty of Sindh Agriculture University and located in Tandojam, Sindh, Pakistan.[1] It is accredited by the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC).[2] Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences is one of the five faculties of Sindh Agriculture University. This faculty is situated on Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas Highway almost 15 km (9.3 mi) south of Hyderabad city. University campus is providing well-organized veterinary and para-veterinary manpower and expertise for enhancing the wellbeing of the total social and economical scope of communities of Pakistan and the province of Sindh in specially by advancing the health of animals, well-being, production and performance, veterinary health and to conserve the resources of animal genetics.

Established in 1972, in the province of sindh it the first faculty and institution of para-vets, veterinary sciences and animal husbandry.[3] It is one of the renowned institute of Veterinary and animal sciences which is conducting broad range of researches through its 14 teaching departments. It is affiliated with Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam for the last few years and became a distinct body that has been conducting researches independently. The university is offering undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral programs in 14 different disciplines of animals health.[3] The university maintains its highest ranks and is regarded as one of the top universities in the "veterinary sciences" category by the Higher Education Commission (Pakistan) (HEC), as of 2019.
