Fatim-Zahra Ammor is a Moroccan politician of the National Rally of Indepentents (RNI) and current Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social Economy of Morocco.

Education

Fatim Zahra Ammor holds a engineering diploma from the Superior National School of Advanced Techniques (ENSTA) and a certificate in business administration from the Sciences Po in Paris.[1]

Professional career

She has been employed for nine years at the American consumer goods corporation Procter & Gamble and is since years a close collaborator of Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch. Since 2001, she was a member Akhannouchs Akwa Group executive council for 10 years.[2] Besides she was the Director of the Timitar festival of World Music in Morocco between 2005 and 2011 and[2] was one of the organizers of the participation of the Kingdom of Morocco at the Expo in Milano in 2015.[2] From 2013 onwards, following her resignation from Akwa,[3] she established herself as an adviser and organizer of international events.[1]

Political career

Ammor is a member of the RNI[4] and on the 7 October 2021 she was appointed as the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social Economy by King Mohammed VI[2] and replaced Nadia Fettah Alaoui.[5] Tourism is a main industry branch of and a major source of foreign currency for Morocco and she is entrusted to re-activate it after the Covid-19 pandemic.[6]
