The Ford Mondeo is a Chinese mid-size sedan to be produced starting 2022 by Changan Ford, a joint venture between Chinese automaker Changan Automobile and American automaker Ford Motor Company.

Overview

The new Ford Mondeo was first spied testing in Belgium in June 2021,[2] then again in Michigan, United States later in October.[3] However, the new Mondeo will be produced and sold exclusively in China and will be revealed on November 22, 2021 at Auto Guangzhou. It will be a sedan variant of the also China-exclusive Ford Evos crossover and will replace the outgoing fourth-generation Ford Mondeo.[4]

Specifications

The Chinese Ford Mondeo will be powered by Changan Ford's CAF488WQC 2.0L turbocharged engine, with an output of 238 hp and 376 Nm of torque, giving the car a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph). The Mondeo uses an 8-speed automatic transmission and is front-wheel drive.[4][5]
