Gallie Åkerhielm
Gallie Åkerhielm (née Hoffmann; born March 28, 1907) was a Swedish baroness, children’s author, journalist and translator. She was best known for her two children's book series, Anna-Lena and Trisse the cat. She knew French, German, English and Italian, and had translated many works.[1]

Life
Gallie Akerhielm was born on March 28, 1907, in Kazan, Russia.[2] She was the daughter of mining engineer August Hoffmann, and his wife Lydia Popova.[2] Her family moved back to Stockholm, where her paternal grandmother owned properties in Kungsholmen. In her life, she has married a total of three times, first in 1928 to Arturo Croci, in Rome, divorced in 1937, second in 1938 to the author Uno Eng (1896–1972), with whom in 1936, she had a daughter, Gallie Eng, and third in 1941 to the author and translator Helge Åkerhielm (1910–1968).[2][3]
Gallie Akerhielm published her debut novel Nygift i Rom (Newlyweds in Rome), in 1937. She became popular as a children's book writer, especially for her series Anna-Lena and Trisse the cat, respectively. She also published ten illustrated books for children. In addition to writing books, she translated books from Norwegian and Danish to Swedish. In 1938, she published her first translation of Ali and Nino by the Azerbaijani author with the pseudonym Kurban Said, through Hökerbergs förlag.[4]
Gallie Akerhielm died on September 3, 1968, in a car accident. Her husband Helge Åkerhielm was also killed in that accident. They are buried in the Woodland Cemetery in Stockholm.[3][4]
