Gary Burgess
Gary Burgess (born November 13th, 1975) is a journalist in Jersey, Channel Islands.

He has worked for ITV Channel TV and Channel 103, as well as writing columns in the Jersey Evening Post. He first started working for ITV in Guernsey in 2011.[1] He has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and he retired from ITV in August 2021 to focus on his health and well-being.[2] He was awarded a Silver Seal by the Bailiff in recognition of his contribution to Island life.[3] He was also a finalist in the Royal Television Society Southern Awards 2021.
Burgess is married to Alan Burgess, and the couple was the first same-sex couple in Jersey to convert a civil partnership to a marriage after the island legalised same-sex marriage in 2018. They had held an unofficial wedding ceremony in March, before the law came into effect.[4]
