George Findlay Shirras
George Findlay Shirras (born 16 July 1885 in Aberdeen, Scotland - died 1955[1]) was a British economist who worked in India during the British colonial rule.

Education
He completed his Master's degree from the University of Aberdeen in 1907.[1]
Career
He entered the Indian Educational Service as Professor of Economics at Dacca College in 1909, and in 1914 was made first Director of Statistics in the Indian Government.[1]
In 1921, he was appointed as the Director of the Labour Office in the Government of Bombay. In 1926 he was made the Principal and Professor of Economics at Gujarat College, Bombay. [1]
