Golden Jubilee of Margrethe II
The Golden Jubilee of Margrethe II will be marked in 2022 in the Kingdom of Denmark, being the 50th anniversary of the accession of Queen Margrethe II on 14 January 1972.[1]

A number of events have been planned to mark the Jubilee.
Celebrations
In November, the official Jubilee portrait was released.[2]
Jubilee programme
On 10 January 2022, Queen Margrethe II will hold a press conference. On 13 January, the eve of the 50th anniversary of her accession, she will open a special exhibition at the Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen called "A Queen’s Jewel Case".[3][4]
On 14 January, the anniversary of her accession, Queen Margrethe and Crown Prince Frederik will attend a special meeting of Denmark's Council of State at Christiansborg Castle. Later that day, her sons and daughters-in-law will accompany the Queen at the Jubilee celebration by the Danish Parliament. On the same day, the Queen will visit the grave of her father, Frederick IX, at Roskilde Cathedral, and will lay a wreath.[3][4]
On 15 January, the Queen and the royal family will appear on the balcony at Christian IX's Palace at Amalienborg, where large crowds of well-wishers are expected to gather to cheer her. From there, Margrethe will take part in a carriage procession to Copenhagen City Hall for an official lunch and another balcony appearance. In the evening, the Queen will attend a gala performance in her honour at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen.[3][4]
On Sunday, 16 January, Queen Margrethe will attend a special thanksgiving service at Church of Our Lady – Copenhagen Cathedral. In the evening, the Queen will host a gala dinner at Christiansborg Palace, which will be attended by the royal family, foreign guests and Danish dignitaries.[3][4]
