Haya Day

Haya Day (Urdu: یومِ‌حیا) is celebrated on February 14 in Pakistan[1] as opposed to Valentine's Day. It was first celebrated by Islami Jamiat Talaba(Largest Student Organization In Pakistan). The day is celebrated in all parts of the country.

Celebrations

Rallies, seminars and other events were held in all major college and university campuses in the capital Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Peshawar, Multan, Faisalabad, Quetta and other cities attended by thousands of students.

It set up stalls in different public sector institutions of the provincial metropolis and distributed literature against Valentine’s Day.[2] One such stall was set up on Lower Mall near Islamia College, Civil Lines where the student organisation played songs on the topic of modesty.
